Belle Communications, LLC, specializes in developing communication strategies for both private and public organizations, both non-profit and for-profit entities. Richard A. Belle, the president of Belle Communications, brings over 30 years of experience in the communications field. For 15 years, he served in senior communication positions for three major non-profit engineering associations: the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA), and the Civil Engineering Research Foundation (CERF). During that period, Belle converted a small black-and-white newsletter to a full-color monthly magazine and served as its editor; managed and crafted a series of promotional vehicles, including membership and conference brochures; and developed and managed program evaluations, awards programs, market assessments, focus groups, and surveys. In the years preceding his non-profit world experience, Belle worked for two research consulting firms, completing proposals, surveys, and analyses for both private sector and government clients.
The lead author of six industry monographs and dozens of published articles, Belle draws upon his detailed understanding of operational challenges for a broad range of organizations. He holds Certified Association Executive (CAE) and Institute for Organization Management (IOM) designations.
Belle has served as a juror for award competitions held by the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS), the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), Construction Writers Association (CWA), and the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC). He sat on the Editorial Board of Contractor’s Business Management Report and has been a guest speaker/lecturer at the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, National Defense University; the Business Development Journal annual conference; and the New School for Social Research; among others. He currently serves on the ASAE Consultants Section Council and previously on the ASAE Communications Section Council, twice as Chair, Gold Circle Awards Committee.
